I have three girls. One is a cream colour with a dark apricot hood with the line all the way to her tail. She has ruby eyes. She is mummy's girl....loves to curl up with me and have a sleep after eating something yummy together on the couch :-)
I have too younger girls (we call them the babies cos they are 9 months younger than the first one) who I think are berkshires?? They are brown/grey like little native rats with white feet and white on their tummies. Tipsy has a white tip (about an inch long) on her tail and Isobel only has the tiniest dot on the very end (you have to really look).
They are beautiful.

I have two champagne hooded girls who are a week off 7 months old. They're sister rats named Pixie and Mishka. I'm always laughing at them - especially when Pixie's leaning of the top shelf with her wheelie tail curled over her back, and Mishka just has to come up behind her and start licking her butt! GROSS!! But really, really funny!

Sounds very cute! I'm disappointed because today I was supposed to get my first ratties, but the pet shop couldn't sell them to me, so I have to wait until to at least Monday to get them, or perhaps I won't be able to get those ones at all and I'll have to wait 10 weeks for more........ And the two buck ratties the had were very adorable..... Quite sad.....

2 boys by the names of Blitzkrieg and Kamikaze.
They both live up to their names.. Blitz is territorial, dominant, head strong and acrobatic.
Kamikaze loves to leap from ledge to lege and shred his bedding.
Neither are impressed with litter training and turn the cage (and litter tray) upside down daily.

I have 40 females, and 7 males, and close to 200 offspring, ranging from pinkies to sub adults. We just lost our oldest male, Chedda, he was about 3 years old. Our youngest male is a keepie from one of the litters because of unusual markings, his name is Coffee. My son-in-law spilt a full cup of coffee the first day our new guy was allowed out to play.. hense the name. My daughter has two at her place now, Tipsy and Tyson. She wants to breed one day also.

Yay! Today I just brought home my two new ratties!! I'm not too sure of their colouring, but they're both hooded and at the moment they're sleeping in the corner of the cage looking at me like, "What?" They're very adorable!!

I'm being a "Grown up" (and HATING IT)
I want to get back to being a rattie mum, after nearly 20 years rat-less
But...we are going away at Christmas, so will wait till the New Year.
...oh, and also getting air-con installed, so that will make our animal's life SO much better.
Does anyone breed Sphynx rats in Australia??...the danger of Google, I saw one on a US site, and I'm in love.
Although, all the animals I end up with are rejects for whatever reason, so I may end up with something completely opposite to what I want.
When I DID have rats so long ago, I was considered "odd" and some people (the ex included) didn't know how I could have rats (or ferrets) in my clothes.........

We dont have Hairless rats in Australia... Well we do but they only live to be about 6 months old, so basically they dont exist because only about 2 people have them and they cant seem to get them to live past the 6 to 7 month age. If you like that look then I would suggest trying a Patchwork Rex.
