I did have 5 rats that were rescued after being dumped at an op-shop, in their cage. There were 4 girls and 1 boy. All the girls were pregnant.... They all had their babies and i found homes for them all. I even kept a couple, as you do..lol Me not knowing that they can mate through a cage, put the girls in one cage and boy in another, but right up close to each other. I thought Rex might get lonely....lol Anyway recently, as some will know, i lost 2 mums leaving 2 litters, which are now with a foster mum (Thanks Africa) So i have 3 girls now at home, Molly, Princess and Kaz. And my boys Sexy Rexy and Spencer. I really love my ratties, theyre the most intelligent animals and have so much love to give.

I've had four rats in total. Last year I lost Tilly, my Topaz female who was the most beautiful rat with the most gorgeous personality I have ever met ...then I had Otis a little male rat (black berkshire) who I lost last week and was absoloutely devastated. However I now have two babies. They are males, seven weeks old and are hooded fawn rats with pink eyes. Nicknamed collectively as the terrible twosome...they are really, really cute and already have quirky little personalities. Their actual names are Dougal and Nougat and can only be told apart by the markings on their back. One has a short, solid stripe (Nougat) and the other has a broken, longer stripe (Dougal). I love them to bits

I finally found two 7 week old girls that needed a home. They're both hooded females, almost black/dark chocolate and white and like trav, they can only be told apart by the small differences in the markings on their backs. They haven't been named yet. I'll keep them at home and get them used to being handled before I take them to work. They're just gorgeous.

Whaaaat? I always thought Thowra was a boy I know lol, but my first ever mouse was called that when I thought she was a boy, and it kinda stuck for any mouse or rat of the same colour that I've had since, regardless of whether they are male or female. She has issues anyway, gets paranoid every time I leave them alone, so it kinda suits that she has an odd name lol

Over the years I have had quite a few rats Currently I have 8 - 6 girls and 2 boys. With another girl arriving next week, but shhhhhh that's a secret from the family, lol Girls * BOZ Topaz - Argente self Silky Rex Mother of Cindy, Galena and Dover. Grandmum of Apache * CMR Cindy (Short for Cinderella) - Cinnamon Self * CMR Galena - Agouti Self Double Rex * BOZ Apache (Short for Apache Tear) - Black Self * Gypsy (Short for Gypsum) - Black Berkshire From one of the 2 litters that Kim fostered after their mum died. * Tiny - Black Hooded Same as Gypsy but from the other litter. Boys * BTR KC - Beige bareback Double rex * CMR Dover - Agouti self You may notice a theme through my names using different crystals and yes Galena is a known crystal. Any name not a crystal are ones I didn't name, lol. All my self rats past and present except Sapphire have been full self, not a hair of white on them anywhere, which I have been told doesn't happen often, most selfs have a very small bit of white on their feet. Past rats * Elly - Dove Hooded * Figit - Black Hooded * Citrine - Mink Self She is the one Kim mentions in another post that was rescued and had 19 babies. and is great grandmum of Topaz * BTR Honeysuckle - Topaz Hooded * BTR Jet - Black Berkshire * BTR Amber - Mink Berkshire Single Rex * CMR Opal - Argent self * CMR Blaine - Mink self * BTR Sapphire - Blue self Single Rex * CMR Pearl - Mink Self * Lexy - Mink Hooded * Kalhua - Mink Hooded

I have 4 at the moment.
Teddy my big squishy boy. He is desexed so I can keep all the ratties together. He is mink in colour I think.
Then I have Possum. A pink eyed white. wonderful lil girl she is.(maybe Pregnant) But thats another story.
Our newest babies are
Cheeky, she is an agouti hooded. Full of life. always bouncing and soooooo cheeky.
And Eden, champagne coloured. Cheeky's sister. A lil more quieter and cuddlier. loves to snuggle in your pocket.
We got the 2 babies after my baby and ratty love of my life Sweetpea passed away. She lived for just over 3 yrs. wonderful lifespan for a rat. She was my first rat and what started my love for the wonderful lil creatures

My rats are as follows, MALE RATS: Bobbie - Agouti Hooded - Absolutley beautiful, sweet cuddly rattikus! Mogo - Dove Hooded - A rescue rat, cage agressive but if you let him come out himself he's sweet and cuddly. Jake - Agouti Hooded - we rescued him from a snake tank and he was already a big rat, took him a while to get use to people but he's a real squishy sweetie now, you can lay him on his back and stroke his tummy. Blue Boy - Cinnamon Hooded - funny name for a cinnamon rat but some red heads are called Blue as a nickname so it just sorta stuck, this boy is one i bred, his dad is Jake his mum is RQ. He's lovely just like his parents. Orion - Agouti Hooded - Blue Boys full brother, a cheeky trouble maker, its impossible to study with this rascal around he steals all my pens and pencils and grooms my text books. Crash - Blue/grey/ticked? self - I just got this little guy, he's taken to me like a duck to water, he's so loving and playful and wrestles with my hand. He's just adorable. Tyson - Pale Champagne Hooded - Tyson is a fatty ratty, he just sleeps and eats, sleeps and eats, he loves cuddles but isn't very active, he's from an accidental litter his mum Peaches along with her cagepal Bessie got out and did the dirty deed through the cage bars with Mogo. Luckily none of Mogo's babies have his cage agressive temperament from either litter. Axel - Buff Hooded - another fatty ratty, much the same as Tyson, being his full brother, but a little more active during free range time, loves to lay across the back of my neck and play with my earrings. Widget - Black Hooded - A scampering little psycho, nah not really but extra playful, he loves a good hand wrestle and will steal anything which is not tied down. His dad is Mogo and his mum is Bessie. Zack - Black Hooded - Squishy little cutie pie, he's very lazy being just like his full brothers Tyson and Axel. Loves cuddles and kisses. Yoshi - Black Hooded - Another full brother to Tyson, Axel and Zack, another squishy lazy boy, loves my dog, and gives her kisses on the nose. Tuck - Agouti Hooded - Nutter! Crazy! Adorable! This little guy is the funniest rat, he dosen't walk he hops everywhere, he's a joyful handful of fun. His dad is Jake and his mum is Lillie. Sampson - Black Hooded - Full brother to Tuck, but very different, he's chubby and lazy and loves to snuggle on your lap. A very loving boy. And sadly my fourteenth boy went to the rainbow bridge last night, his name was Maximus, a dove hooded, i called him maximus because he was just in your face with everything, he had a good life, coming from one of my original lines and lived to be three years, two months and five days old. I'll miss you so much my Rattus Maximus!! Thankyou for sharing my life. MY GIRLS: RQ - Dove Hooded - opinionated & demanding but still quiet and cuddly, RQ is the Alpha female of her cage and won't stand for anything unless it's had her approval first. She loves the camera. Bessie - Silvered Black Berkshire - Bessie found me, i was in a local park, lounging in the sunshine and she scampered upto me and adopted me as her new rat mummy, i couldn't find anyone who layed claim to her so i guess she had been dumped, she's very loving and gentle. She had an accidental litter with Mogo. Peaches - Champagne Hooded - A rat who was left at a house when previous tenants moved out, luckily the landlord was a friend and knew i had rats so Peaches came to live with me, she can be a bit nippy at times, but if you get her on a good day she's very loving and cuddly. She had an accidental litter to Mogo, all babies have great temperaments. Lillie - Black Hooded - My little sweetie, i've had some vocal rats but this one chats to you all the time, at first i thought she was having trouble breathing or had a cold or myco but a trip to the vet cleared that up and i realised she's just a conversationalist! If you talk to her she talks back with chirps, squeaks and huffles. She loves free time and loves to pounce like a cat on unsuspecting feet and chases my PIT BULL around! Fruit Tingle - Cinnamon Self - What can i say about this sweetie pie, she's a real people rat and enjoys nothing more than hanging out with you and gently tasting your ears, nose, fingers and toes. Has just joined Tyson for her first litter (All babies reserved). Yuri - Buff Hooded - The laziest female rat i've ever met, all she does is eat and sleep, even in out of cage time she just finds a comfy spot and curls up. Dad is Jake, mum is RQ. Bubbles & Buttons - Agouti Hooded - I put these two together because they're two peas in a pod, identical in markings, colour and size, the same temperament, they are that similar it can be hard to tell them apart, although Bubbles likes peas and Buttons likes corn. Their dad is Jake and Mum is Lillie. Vesta - Black Hooded - The devil incarnate! She's like her mum RQ but with an extra chunk of attitude. Steals everything, is a challenge to catch after out of cage time, snatches treats off other rats and hoggs the running wheel not letting any other rat play whilst she's in there. When i get the occasional cuddle it's usually followed by a protestant squeak of 'let me go now, you've had your time'. Paris - Dove Hooded - another Peaches/Mogo daughter, another lazy fatty, who enjoys just hanging out with humans, likes my dog and snuggles with her too. Miah - Buff Hooded - yet another Peaches/Mogo daughter, and you guessed it, lazy and fat, you can lay this one on her back and stroke her tummy, she also loves playing tug of war. Giselle - Black Berkshire - Just like her mum Bessie with her dad Mogo's lazy genes, has a fetish for pens and if i'm playing with another rat she always has to get my attention. Pandora - Black Berkshire - Full sister to Giselle, loves to cut laps around the lounge room as fast as she can, full of life and joyful to watch, she loves kisses and pouncing on my dogs tail when it's wagging. Venus - Champagne Hooded - Yes another Peaches/Mogo daughter and yet again much the same with a docile, sleepy temperament, she likes to snuggle on the keyboard or on a book i'm trying to read, dislikes my dog and will just sit and stare at her with evil ratty eyes. So they're my ratties, although i have just inherited eight more today, very long story, luckily i have heaps of ratty room. I'll let you guys know when i'v named the new ones. Sorry its so long!!
