i have 2 little girls. the older one is seraphim, most often known as fifi, she's a hooded but i'm not exactly sure of the colour, i was told it is champagne. and cocoa is the younger one, she's a berkshire but her colour's changed. she's darkened alot since when i first got her. she used to be a rich chocolately brown, but now she almost looks black sometimes. i would love to get a few more little girls because they're all so adorable. i already have extra cages for if i find the right ones but i don't know of anyone in perth that breeds them, i'd love a cinnamon hooded, or a down under of any colour, they're so cute

I have six ratties at the moment (although need to rehome 4). The two girls I am going to keep are Silk, black hooded. She's my old girl, about 18 months to two years old. She has recently escaped into the boys cage (kind of ironic in that I named her after Silk the thief/spy in the Balgariad. Pi(rat) my one eyed part tailed agouti self. She is about half Silks sixe but about eight months old. The girls that I am looking for homes for are Sal- a reddish mink self. She's very friendly however has been a bit nippy at times, depending on what smells you have on your hands (she hates bleach on hands). Pip- a more grey mink color, Sal's sister. She is a berk girl. Rather shy but sweet once she gets used to you. Is most easily pushed around by the rest of the girls. The boys I am trying to rehome are Tao and Bishonen. Tao is the same color as Pip but he has irish markings- a small triangle of white on his chest. Bishonen is the same color as Sal. They are Sal's babies, about six months old (born three weeks after I bought the sisters home.) Both boys love snuggles and love to just sit with me as I watch telly. Bish loves to groom me and make sure I am plenty clean. That is my rats for you. I loves them all

hehe yeah i think they're adorable. their names are charm, button and the third one is still undecided yet. she has a reeeeally thin white stripe from her tummy up her chin to her bottom lip and a friend suggested razor, which is kinda cute, but not sure about it for a little girl. so for now it's still not definate.

Tama absolutely adores used tissues, while Pop just loves chewing everything wooden to bits (literally)! Two of mine are obscessed with used tissues too! I had this disgusting cold recently, and Bea and Izzy were chewing my tissues as i was still using them. I let them keep a tissue once just to see what would happen, and I was horrified to see them eat it as if it was a bit of pumpkin or some such treat. I took it away after that. Bea and Izzy are chocolate hooded rats, izzy is inquisitive and daft (if i let them run around in the bathroom while im having a bath its always Izzy who falls in). Bea is smart and neurotic and I worry that one day she will bite, but so far this hasn't happened. Hattie is a little agouti. She is quiet and sweet and shy and I worry she gets picked on. I put lots of little boxes in the cage for her so she can get away from the bigger rats. Nettie is a cream hooded pet shop rat. At first she was a real pain, but now she has settled down and is clever and inquisitive, but also somewhat calmer than the others. Towards people anyway. She harrasses all the other rats though, and mounts them a lot which they don't like. So thats my rats!

Bea and Izzy are chocolate hooded rats. We dont actually have chocolate coloured rats in Australia. We have rusted black and baby black, both of which can look chocolate in colour.

You could post some pictures of them in a separate thread and some of the experts on the forum could have a go at picking their colour.

I tried to put some pictures on using the img quote thing but nothing appeared so I must have done something wrong.
I'm sure they are classified as black. The breeder sent me a geneology list featuring Izzy and I saw that she had written that Izzy is black and white hooded, which I was a bit mystefied about. I just assumed she had forgotten. Lol!
