Oh I'm boring. I just refer to my rats as ratties. To be honest I no longer tell people I don't know particularly well that I have rats as I got so fed up of them going "eew" or making some comment about the black plague or the likes.
As for nicknames. My rats all have multiple names and I'm certain they know them all - such smart little things. The original name being the most sensible and the others reducing to non-sensible baby talk. Like, for example, with my heart rat Crackers, some of her nicknames included Creakle-pops and Keekee (although I dropped the name Keekee when someone told me what it meant in Filipino).

I call them ratlets, ratties, furbags, fuzzballs... And sometimes I'll say "hey hey, kids!" (but no clown laugh.)  |

All the time, I have gone from lengths of calling them Diddlyones. All the way to Penepers. Haha, I think I am a bit weird.

I have a few different terms for them in general when im talking to my friends: i call mine my kids. or when refering to either sex my girls or my boys the boys also get called squishies the girls i call new york subway kittens and babies are rittens. also call them ratties too  |

I live with just me and my rats, and other people refer to them as my family when asking about them. Sometimes I refer to them as little troublemakers, but mostly they are just my rattykins!

Let's see...
Young rats get called Fuzzlets, or Small Fuzz.
My girls are the Spazmonkeys, cause they're so hyperactive and climb up everything.
My boy mostly gets called "Big Boy" cuz he's so much bigger than the girls.
My way of greeting them in the morning is to say "Morning kids!", then they all wake up and hang off the side of the cage in their excitement.
