Hi All Im Alysha, im 21 and work as a storeperson (work sucks!). I have 8 wonderful ratties. 6 girls (luna, eclipse, delta, shelby, pinky and kinky) and 2 boys (romeo & bristle). We adopted (as she was no longer wanted, and very malnurished when she came to us) one of our rats, Kinky and she is around 2-3 yrs old. Shes a lovely little lady. Apart from my rats i have a horse called King, aswell ....and i also have a tarantula called Spinner LOL Ive had a 2x mice aswell while i studied at Agricultural College (doing horse breeding) and one of the girls from there had a rat, which is where my love of rats came about. My hobbies are: fishing, horse riding, 4wding aswell as hunting and target shooting.

HI everyone.... I'm Ness, I'm 28yrs old. I am a tattoo artist been doing that for 6 yrs now. before that i worked in a pet shop. If i'm not drawing for work or just for fun i'm mostly playing my drums or on the net . I love animals, i have always had pets my entire life. Currently my partner and I have a little english staffy her name is BODI, she is 9 months old Very cute. She is adorable but lets face it she isn't a rat! I joined this forum to talk to more rat lovers and to find a rat breeder in Sydney as i do not want to buy a rat from a pet shop as i have had bad experiences with them in the past. ( not at my old job it was way before that.) umm... not sure what else to say, i'm very shy. but enough said i just thought i'd say hey! x

We have a list of breeders in the main section of the forum. Although I am in Melbourne, when I have babies available and they have been reserved, I do make trips to Sydney to deliver them. Also trips to Adelaide for those people in Adelaide reading this. But of course I do charge a fee for transporting them from Melbourne to Sydney or melbourne to adelaide.. Slightly cheaper for the new owner than the cost of having them shipped by air.

Yeah i check it out, but for some reason i didnt really find any in sydney, i dunno why maybe i'm just bein stupid.
But.... that sounds awesome. i will have to keep in touch with you then as i was curious about that. I dont mind paying more for a good little ratty who has been looked after from birth unlike alot of petshop rats who are never handled.
do you know when your going to have another litter?

Hi Ness you dont have access to the main forum yet .. you will get access when you have 10 or more posts.. But in there we have a Ratteries and Breeders section and a topic at the very top of the section called Rattery Prefix Register & Breeders List Its there that you will find about 9 breeders from around NSW, some of which are in Sydney. I'd be happy to swap a rat and transport costs for a Tattoo

Hi - I'm from Melbourne and have been keen to have pet rats for as long as I can remember... I'm 50 now and have decided to treat myself to some rats right after my youngest daughter gets married, which is in 2 weeks time. I have four granddaughters and 3 more grandchildren due in early 2010 - I know that rats make lovely pets for children too so I'm looking forward to sharing them with my little ones. My husband is not totally convinced about this but I bet he'll be a big fan in the end. My only real worry is that I also have two cats - they are outdoors a lot. I am thinking a big residence for the rats so they will be comfy when they can't get out due to cats inside. I joined this forum to learn a little more before I get my rats.

Welcome Jude, unless your cats have a high prey drive then you shouldn't have a problem with them being around rats (supervised). My kitty cat is interested in the rats sometimes but really doesn't bother them. The cat i had before this one though had a prey drive though and i had to train him to leave the cage alone. I didn't even leave the cage in the same room as him unattended until he learned to leave them be and the rats learned not to be afraid of him. Though that being said he was never in the room when i had the rats out. Where with my current cat i know its fine to have the rats out while she is around and she wont bother them.

Hi everyone, I'm Kelly and I'm from the Central Coast, NSW. I've been keeping rats for about 6 years now and I can't imagine a better pet. I currently have 3 rats. Two crazy little six-week-old girls, Lyrika and Psycheira, and my brand new eight-week-old boy, Nicodemus, who adopted me yesterday (once they're burrowed into your shirt, you belong to them ). I also have an extremely arthritic, lazy thirteen-year-old beagle named Barney, who thinks the rats are just nuisances that wake him up by banging around their cages. Nico's from BozzyRats, so it was following the link from the BozzyRats website that brought me here.
