Thanks guys. I used to have Budgies inside too. I have breed them in the past and had two girls 'Gucci' and 'Dolce'. They have now gone back to parents house where my aviary is with the other budgies and cockatiels. It was a case of each species got their own free time because they were all on someones menu if you get my drift No one seems fussed by who else was living in the loungroom, expept when the rats arrived, the budgies definately had a few feathers 'out of place' Gecko's would be great Kim... and I agree Christie, make him want them and then it's all plain sailing ;D

Yeah, may as well jump onm the band wagon =]
I'm Jorj (not short for anything, just Jorj (Y)) Currently, I'm 15. I got my first rat for christmas in 2007.. He's been with me ever since. Recently adopted Possum (She was about 6mnth when I got her, and had her for three months before she died.) Squishee was on free range time, so Possum thought it'd be a brilliant idea to break up and 'have fun' with my big, sexy boy rat =/ -_- Not a good idea, bub =\ Then a month later, Possum popped out nine little babies.. Thus leaving me with eleven rats =D. Inconvenient, but still cute xP Possum died when the babies were three and a half weeks old, of unknown causes..
I live in Runcorn, in Brisbane. I'm keeping 3 out of the litter.. A male cagemate for Squishee, and two baby girls.
Not really much going on in my life, although i do enjoy reading.
so yeahh... that's pretty much all there is at the moment... =]
Would be nice to get to know a few of you =] x

Welcome to the forum Thats sad to hear about Possum, especially as she had babies at the time of her dying. I'm really sorry. Because she was so young when she died I would suggest that when you try to sell your bubs that you let people know the babies are for Pet only homes due to the fact their mother died from unknown causes at 9 months old. That way people will hopefully not breed from the babies they get, in case its a genetic reason that Possom died. Do you have any pics of your rats as I'm sure we would love to see them.

Hi!
My name is Carrie, I'm 24 and from Brisbane. I work as a vet nurse but I am in the process of cutting down my vet nursing hours to do more work for my church...
I have two dogs - Napoleon (chihuahua x) and Penelope (miniature fox terrorist x), two cats Lord Raven Finchly II (persian) and Summer (domestic) and two ratties, Aurora and Saphira.
Aurora is an agouti, Saphie is only a baby so I am not sure what colour she's going to eventuate but she's creamy turning grey at the moment, but not as dark as a mink usually is... I'm not sure.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hello,
I am Vanessa from Melbourne and just waiting to receive my first pet rats, 3 females (12 days and 6 hours to go till they are old enough to come home with me, heehee).
So at the moment I have rats on the brain, I have been researching like crazy (when I should be studying for uni - currently doing psychology honours) and can't stop thinking about them - and their cute little faces are in my head when I go to sleep!
We're getting a PEW (who is the runt, and will be called pixel!) and an agouti (a blaze i think ??), and a silverfawn (a headspot i think??) - anyway hello to everyone here, you seem like a very friendly bunch!

Hi there and welcome. You new friends will certainly bring you hours of fun. There is nothing better than ratty TV, open the cage have a play with them and get them hyper then close the cage doors and watch the fun lol.

Hi everyone I'm pretty new to rat keeping, having only has experience as a child. I am looking at getting some rats now, have been for a year or so. I want to be as educated as possible before I get them so that they have the happiest lives possible. So that's why I've joined up
