hey guys, I'm Ness i'm new on here. I've had a rat years a go, a little boy i saved, he was ment to be a feeder rat, so he wasn't as placid as i had hope but i loved him all the same. unfortunately he died and i have been wanting to get a couple of rats in the near future. I was wanting to go threw a breeder to make sure i have a happy healthy rat(s). so... does anyone breed in Sydney? does anyone know about blue rats? thx guys.  |

I am new on here also. I came by this site by accident while looking for a breeder in NSW. I would love a blue. Any suggestions? |

As you probably understand, healthy blue rats are quite difficult to find. I have realised this only after a couple of weeks looking into finding some pet rats. I've planned my cage setup and everything. I'm in the same boat as most people looking for a blue. But there are plenty of other beautiful colours around, so not having a blue isn't the end of the world. We all want one, and eventually I will probably find one, most likely have to get one air freighted to me if and when the time comes. Very hard to come by in NSW, and not many breeders even have them.

Try doing a google search for breeders. I joined a different forum and found a great breeder in Queensland who is going to freight me down a couple of gorgeous rats. You may need to go on a waiting list for well bred rats but it's worth it. My last 2 girls were petshop rats from a dodgy feeder breeder I found out later (no breeders in Tas) and they had major health issues and died only weeks after I got them  Good luck |

I dont breed blues but for Sydney members.. when I have litters many of them end up going to sydney breeders and people. I actually bring them down in the car when they are old enough and people can meet me at the hotel Saturday night or we can meet up somewhere sunday morning before we head home again. So thats a possiblity as well.. my next visit to Sydney will probably be in July as I hope to have some babies ready by then for new homes.  |
