I know Mash is a cinnamon, but we visited Matches today and he's much darker red.
What would the colour be? It's dark orange, like a ginger cat is.

Hi There, welcome to the forum.
Matches may be either an Argente or a Topaz, it depends on what color the under coat is.
Argentes have a creamier undercoat color
Topaz's have a greyer color.

Wow I never thought there could be so many colours! my boys are just white with red eyes and greyish with what looks to be black eyes lol.

I know, rat colours are just gorgeous aren't they? I know they're not as varied as mouse coats, but my goodness, I just adore seeing so many variations. I strolled into a pet shop the other day (as I do, mainly to check the conditions the rats are kept in, I'm paranoid...) and there was the most beautiful young rat with bluey-black hooded markings, I had never seen anything quite so vividly coloured before!
