LOL... some rats will pee or poop on you because they are scared. Most rats though do it when they are comfortable with you. The same as if a rat sits and cleans its self on you, licks you, bruxes or boggles while on you, then you can pretty much say the rats likes you.

My girl always smelt delicious, and she would come and rub herself against my face and she always smelt so good.

I LOVE how everything about Kiore (my rat) is small, so very very small! Her lil mouth & the yawns that come out of it! Her lil face that sits between her lil feet when she's peering out to see me, when she's snuggled into my hand & she gives me lil licks! I even love the lil hole she's put in my flanelette sheet!
I'm very new to this amazng lil world of Rats, so am so blown away at how responsive they are, they are just like dogs, but so little!

they are just like dogs, but so little! Haha Thats pretty much my Rattery Motto. You can see it at the bottom of my posts, in my sig and is all over my web site and business cards. My rattery is also registered as a business (non-profit) its the only one registered in Australia, and my motto is copyrighted. But its just so true isnt it. Once you get one rat you are hooked pretty much for life and they become addictive.

I like the way they jump around, it sort of reminds me of the way weasels run. I like it when they get excited about food treats and run up to me for them. I think it's cute when they shove each other out of the way with their paws so they can be first to get the treats, and the way they carry large pieces of food around in their mouths, or when the food it too heavy, the way they move it by tumbling it in front of them.

I love the way my boy Lucky plays with me and licks my hands like a dog It's so cute the way he does it. I love me girls... well, becuase they're my babies and were from my very first breedings. Sometimes they lick, sometimes they don't, but they always come up to the door of the cage to say hello sniff my fingers in the hope of getting a treat None of my rats have ever pooped on me... I've got two girls who do pee on me when they get scared, but thats usually because I don't let them know I'm there first before I pick them up.

I was visiting my two future angels yesterday, and one of them decided to wee on my jumper. I secretly liked it, coz it means they like me already right? =D um... lets say yes lol isnt rat pee great? *jokes* Another thing to add about what i love most about rats: I love that their little paws can grip the tip of your finger. It reminds me of those pictures of the little baby's hand holding onto someones finger, but i think its much more adorable with rats. Just makes me go "awwwww" when my ratties hold my finger or when i see their little paw on the end

I love that they are as clean (if not cleaner) as cats and as responsive as dogs. when they brux in my ear. snuggle under my hair. That they dont meow or bark . I love when they bash their food bowl around the cage to get my attention. I just love everything about them. (even my chewed lace curtains)

I love my rats because they are a constant source of joy, even when one of my oldies goes to the rainbow bridge i remember the good times and it brings a smile to my face. I love their whiskers and how their little noses twitch, their little hands and how they grab things with them and i love the bond that you develop with them. I love my rats because i cant help myself, I'm infected, quick call the vet!!

Things I like about my rats:
The way they eat. The eye boggling just really does it for me :-) The way they use their tails just like a possum to hold on. The way they climb straight back up my arm when I try to put them back home in their cage. Their soft fur. Their kisses.
Really this list goes on forever. I better stop now ;-)

I love the way they can climb upwards, quickly, gracefully and nimbly, but downwards is the complete opposite!! lol i often giggle when a boy ends up with his bum in his water bowl because he wasnt very graceful at climbing down

The fact that they are cuddly and treat you like you're one of them. The way they stick their faces out of their boxes (bedroom) to see what you've brought them for snacks. They are polite and always inquisitive that way. I think that's why I love them so much: they are responsive and intelligent animals.

Their curiosity and the fact that they really do bond with you.

The fact that they are animals and that they respond to your touch. The feeling that something cares if you exist or not and also their little twitching noses!
