He is a Cinnamon. Most silvered rats tend to get more silver hairs as they get older, its epecially noticeable on Silvered Blacks. Also when it comes to colour, Urine can bleach rat hair, its why especially on Black rats you get that rusted brown look over time and why pale colours, white, champagne and so on can get a yellowish look to their coats. But baby rat coats are different to adult coats in colour, much lighter, and so as rats grow you can get a number of different shades of the same colour on a single rat because the hair doesnt change all at once.

I love watching my baby rats develop their adult colours. One boy was a light dove colour and by the time he hit full adult hood he was a dark mink (a really steel gray colour).
I liked my silvered black boys rust colour when he got older, it added to his handsome buck personallity. It looked like a distinguished older gentleman... (if marinating in pee to obtain that rust colour is gentlemanly lol). He didnt 'marinate' too much but i've been told diet and health of the rattie can be factors that make their fur change too.

the rat I love the most in this house at the moment is my baby boy Trip He's grown a bit since I took this pic but I just love the look on his face. I really hope to be able to find him a perfect mate and maybe reproduce the lovely wedge he has

Hi I'm new here, I was wondering what does a rex/silky cross look like? I bought some petshop rats recently, and one was a pregnant PEW rex female. I was surprised: I thought they were not common in Queensland.

But otherwise you cant really tell the difference, or at least I havent been able to by just looking.

Does your BEW boy Remus have any black spots on him? I only ask because my experience with BEW's so far has been that they have all had at least a very small spot of black somewhere. Which I think is so cute. BEW's are just so stunning.

No Remus is pure snow white, not a black spot or mark anywhere. I was lucky enough to find him at a local pet shop about 4-5 weeks ago. Dave

Wow I dont think I have seen a BEW with not even a small mark anywhere on him. He must be very pretty or should that be handsome since he is boy. Yes a lot of the BEW's have been found in Sydney pet shops. I tried to look for one last time I was in Sydney but wasnt lucky enough to find one. Although Irish is my favorite marking, BEW has to be my favourite colour at the moment.
